July Newsletter

Hey Everyone –

I hope you had an amazing 4th of July weekend!

I got the chance to sneak away and head to Palm Beach to see my family for the weekend. It was hot and soooo humid (can you hear me whining – Jews love heat but we bitch about it like crazy). We stayed at an amazing Kimpton Hotel – The Tideline – and their staff was absolutely fantastic. I had never been to Palm Beach and, between us, I got a bit nervous as I sensed some Trump loyalists (yep, you read it here) in the crowds and I feared they might hunt me down and take me out. Aside from that, it was a perfect getaway – I got to spend time with my nephew Jay, his lovely girlfriend Tara (this one could be serious), and my crazy but wonderful sister-in-law Heidi. As many of you know, my brother Ricky passed away six years ago, but Heidi and I have always been closer than close – so put us together and we are trouble. We sing, we dance, we eat (Heidi eats more – shhhh), and we laugh a lot. Our family has been through hell and back, so this trip was a celebration of coming through our obstacles and moving forward! I am especially proud of Jay and all he has accomplished down there.
Isn’t that what summers are for? Taking vacations, hanging with family and friends, and letting your hair down when you can. Slushy cocktails, tan lines, the smell of suntan lotion, BBQs, corn, tomatoes, the beach, the pool, the fog (yep, in SF), and being together to revel in all the wonderful times that this season brings. I LOVE SUMMER.

And this one is going to be epic – as our AF&Co. extended family grows. Liz Kramer and her husband Chris are about to welcome their baby boy any minute (they passed on little Andy as the name), Sasha Bernstein and her husband Nate are going to welcome their little girl in early August, and our very own Jamie Kopmann is going to be a summer bride!! More news will be revealed in our next issue.

Read on for all the great ways to enjoy the summer with our clients. New openings, new brunches, special dinners, concerts, Eat Drink SF, a benefit or two and so much more. This is our biggest summer issue ever! Are you ready?

Put your sunglasses on, apply chapstick, grab a cocktail, and hit the chaise lounge to relax while reading this issue. (You’d better really do this – I’ll be watching).

Stay cool,
