Salt & Straw’s New September Flavors

 

In San Francisco, we all know the transition into Fall really means the start of Indian Summer…and the height of ice cream season. In celebration of the bountiful harvests of this time of year, Salt & Straw, known for their taste provoking and imaginative ice cream creations, has dreamed up five unique flavors for the month of September. From hyper-local Marshall’s Farm Honey, to unique ingredients such as Hey Boo’s srikaya (custardy coconut jam), and bone marrow, each flavor is inspired by the fresh and flavorful tastes of summer while also paying homage to the cozy, nostalgia-inducing comfort foods of fall.

 

Get them before they’re gone! The September flavors will only be available from Friday, September 1 to Thursday, September 28 and include:

 

California Honey Rocky Road

Salt & Straw’s spin on Rocky Road! Candied California Almonds and a ribbon of marshmallow fluff made with Marshall’s Farm Honey are stirred into a rich and decadent chocolate cream cheese ice cream.

 

Coconut Jam & Chocolate Crispy Rice

Swirls of Hey Boo’s custardy coconut jam dance through a simple salt and vanilla ice cream along with chocolate-covered candied rice clusters.

 

Bone Marrow & Smoked Cherries

Roasted bone marrow and sweet Oregon cherries smoked with a touch of star anise, fennel seeds, and hickory aged in bourbon simple syrup.

 

Peach Crumble Bars (vegan)

Freshly baked peach crumble bars from Petunia’s Pies & Pastries in Portland, stirred into a lightly spiced coconut ice cream streaked with caramel ribbons.

 

Roasted Strawberry & Coconut (vegan)

Roasted strawberries blended with coconut cream.

 

Salt & Straw is open from 11am-11pm daily and is located at 2201 Fillmore Street (at Sacramento Street) with a second shop opening in Hayes Valley late-summer 2017.
