There is communion of more than our bodies when bread is broken and wine drunkM.F.K. Fisher
Coming from a background in the arts, Angela Smalley got her start as a restaurant and hospitality publicist at Four Seasons Hotel Boston, where she developed a career-defining passion for food and travel. Lucky for her, this passion became a calling, and she has spent the better part of a long marketing career working with chefs and luminaries from the culinary world such as Jean-Claude Vrinat of Le Taillevent, Lydia Bastianich, Daniel Boulud, Guy Martin, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Barbara Lynch, Frank McClelland and Louis Risoli of L’Espalier, and many others. She has represented numerous hotel brands and has launched properties for W, Hotel Veritas, Fairmont, and Ritz Carlton. When she wasn’t working with hospitality clients, she launched a private aviation start-up, repped an LA rock band, created web content and strategy for the likes of the Boston Film Festival, and brought a literary non-profit back from the brink of obscurity.
A consummate people person, Angela is a master at conjuring marketing and other strategic partnerships, as well as nurturing relationships with media nationwide. She has secured placements in outlets including The New York Times, Business Week, TimeOut, Esquire, Bon Appetit, and Travel & Leisure. Refusing to let her art history degree to go to waste, Angela has a creative streak and affinity for design that makes her an intuitive creative director and brand evangelist.
Angela is returning to San Francisco after a hiatus in Boston and Seattle, and she can’t wait to immerse herself once again into the scene here. On any given evening, you’re likely to find her sitting at the bar at the latest neighborhood hot spot, drinking a manhattan and chatting up the staff.
