I (along with Kelly and Katie) hopped into Daily Driver, the Dogpatch’s hottest new addition. With all the coverage they’ve been getting with their opening, I wanted to try these bagels out for myself. Around 12:00pm there was a short line, which we seemed to just have beat because it formed directly after me. They were training a few new cashiers, so things were moving a little slowly, but will hopefully help the weekend flow. The interior is beautifully decorated, with plenty of second-level seating and the opportunity to watch the magic happen. The menu was big, with options to build your own, or go with a suggested bagel sandwich.
We ordered 3 bagels:
- Everything bagel w/ their “famous” cultured butter
- Sesame bagel w/ house-made cream cheese
- Plain grilled cheese bagel
The bagels were really good, although not EXTRAORDINARY. The cultured butter and cream cheese were unique in their own way. The grilled cheese bagel definitely topped the list (think ooey, gooey cheesy delicacy) – must try.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but I wouldn’t wait more than 20 minutes in line for it, unless you really want to! Fun fact, they have Magnolia beer on tap which you can enjoy on-site. If you’re in the neighborhood, give it a try as it is a sight to see.
